Course Description
This training provides mental health clinicians with a clinical framework for assessing and treating families formed through non-traditional pathways, including single parents by choice, donor-conceived families, assisted reproductive technologies, and intentional co-parenting arrangements.
Participants will examine attachment development, identity formation, disclosure planning, and therapist bias. Ethical considerations, documentation practices, and culturally responsive interventions will be reviewed. Clinicians will gain practical strategies for treatment planning, parent guidance, and child-focused interventions within diverse family structures.
Learning Objectives
Participants will be able to:
• Identify pathways to non-traditional family building
• Differentiate normative developmental concerns from clinically significant distress
• Apply culturally responsive clinical language and documentation practices
• Develop treatment planning and parent-guidance strategies
• Recognize indicators requiring referral to specialized reproductive or perinatal providers
Continuing Education Information
Continuing education credit is pending co-sponsorship approval.

Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the training will receive a full refund.
Cancellations within 48 hours, late arrivals, or no-shows are not eligible for refunds. Recording access will be provided instead.
If the presenter must cancel the training, participants may choose a full refund or transfer to a rescheduled date.

Beth P. Siller, LMFT is a licensed marriage and family therapist providing psychotherapy via telehealth. She is licensed in Florida, Tennessee, and California. Her clinical work focuses on family systems, parent-child relationships, reproductive mental health, and attachment-informed treatment planning. She provides consultation and professional training for clinicians seeking practical frameworks for complex family dynamics.
