Course Description

This training provides mental health clinicians with a clinical framework for assessing and treating families formed through non-traditional pathways, including single parents by choice, donor-conceived families, assisted reproductive technologies, and intentional co-parenting arrangements.

Participants will examine attachment development, identity formation, disclosure planning, and therapist bias. Ethical considerations, documentation practices, and culturally responsive interventions will be reviewed. Clinicians will gain practical strategies for treatment planning, parent guidance, and child-focused interventions within diverse family structures.
